The past four weeks I: Started a creative writing class. Didn't think I would struggle. Found out poetry isn't my liking. Had poems critiqued. Critiques scare me. Learned to take criticism better. Learned I don't have to be perfect to succeed. Decided to share another poem with you.
A Finger Time Line
Long, skinny
Tan growing age lines
Bumps where blood flows
And nails to protect
21 years ago they grasped for an understanding of the world
14 years ago they learned how to play a song with strings and a bow
7 years ago they figured how to create with yarn and sticks
They press buttons, tickle kids, and write papers.
They have nails, sometimes painted
and veins that are getting bigger.
They are tan with growing age lines,
long and skinny.
