Positive Thought # 1

A friend and I were talking about this blog called 1000 Awesome Things, it came up in conversation because we were talking about how the little things in life are what really make us happy.  Why were we talking about little things?  Because we saw this awesome sign at a flower shop and it made us feel uplifted...

I told my friend about how I had been thinking about writing a journal about something positive from each day.  I am the kind of person who puts too much energy into worry, stress and fear and that isn't the way I want to live my life.  I want to be a glass-half-full kind of girl.  Life is all about balance and I am working on balancing my positive thoughts (hoping they will out weigh my negative).  I figured writing one positive thing from each day would help.

Positive Thought #1

Peaceful and Visual Driving.

I assume you are thinking What?

My drive to my internship/job/whatever it is, is about 33 minutes from my house and most of that trip is spent in the country surrounded by cornfields and farm houses.  I decided to start my day with positive thinking, so, as I was driving I was looking around to see if I could find anything worth smiling about.  Sure enough as the sun stretched it's warming arms over the eastern horizon there was the faint glimmer of the silver, just recently full, moon.

That was worth a smile.

My plan now is to share with you one positive thing from each day hoping that maybe it will help both of us find something meaningful in something forgotten or something positive in a seemingly negative day.

p.s. check out 1000 Awesome Things, it makes me appreciate life even more :)

I love this idea! I am the same exact way. I always catch myself thinking, "ok what am I worrying about today." and if im not worrying I think there is something wrong. lol. I would love to try this. Good Luck!

They often have great things up on their sign! I started a gratitude journal not long ago but much like all other journaling experiences it fell by the wayside. Now I just pray. I think it's awesome you are keeping focused on the positive!
